Notes to Vendors

Please arrive at the market on market day to set up no later than 7:30 AM.

Customers sometimes arrive at 7:45.While we do not want to discourage sales we also would like vendors to try to wait until as close to 8 AM to start selling as possible.

The market close is advertised as noon however we typically have customers until 12:15. We start packing up sometime around then.

Please bring sufficient change with you.

Decorating your space is important for sales in many ways. Eye appeal is important to pull customers to you. Think "agriculture" and "fun".

We love dogs and many customers bring them to the market but as vendors we leave ours at home for their safety and our piece of mind.

Small children are lovely and we love giving them hugs but they also need supervision that requires more eyes and energy than we can muster. Remember the parking lot is a busy place on market day.

If you have a table and chair as well as a canopy please bring them with you and let me know that you will be doing so.

We work very hard to bring customers to you. Advertising for the market is done through print media, The Recorder and The Virginian Review as well as Alleghany Mountain Radio. We are also members of the Bath County Chamber of Commerce. They are very kind to distribute our weekly market update to their members.

Every Friday I send a market update to over 100 people in Bath, Highland, Alleghany, and Rockbridge Counties as well as around the state of Virginia. I am always looking for more people to add to the list so don't be shy about sharing email information especially if it will help your customers know where to find you.

Remember we do not charge a fee or a percentage of your sales. What gets done is all volunteer and donated by all of us. Should you like to contribute your time to ensuring the market is a success we would be delighted!

The market website is here. Please share your bio and any links.

Thank you and see you at the market!
